We currently have two puppies in foster with us that are looking for new homes.

This is Holly, she is a labrador x puppy. She is appox 14 weeks old. She is great with other dogs and children and is a real sweetie. She is quite a calm, quiet dog who will bw a small labrador size. She has had all her innoculations.

This is Jasmine, she is a American bulldog x puppy. She is approx 11 weeks old. She is a very beautifull girl who loves nothing more that snuggling on your lap. She walks nicely on the lead and is almost toilet trained already! She is quite confident and loves playing with other dogs. She is great with the children too.

If you would like more information on either of these puppies or to come and visit them please call me on 07535674135. Please leave me a message and i will get back to you asap.

Hi everyone

One of our dotty clients did a Marathon last weekend to raise money for Many Tears animal rescue http://www.manytears.co.uk/ . I am sure they will be very gratefull for everyones donations as they need every penny at the moment. You are not too late if you would like to make a donation, just drop me an email at claregilby@dotty4dogs.co.uk .

Below is part of Natalies email about how the marathon went

Just a quick email to say thank you to everyone for their support this weekend.

For me the race itself was pure hell.  Despite a plan to discuss a number of topics on our run to help pass the time Laura and I were so stressed we barely spoke about anything other than how fast we were running and how rubbish we were feeling.   However, Laura did an absolutely fantastic time and I was just relieved to get round.
For me it was definitely one of the best weekends despite the fact that, had I not decided to run for Many Tears, I would have happily pulled out of the race.  I am glad I didn't and am very grateful for everyone who has agreed to donate some cash.  If you get the time, take a look at the website, make sure though you have tissues to hand http://www.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/.  Clare fosters for Many Tears and when we went to collect Alfie yesterday we met the newest foster dog George.  Clare informed me that George has been kept locked up in a darkened room and used for breading for in excess of 7 years.  He is covered in lumps and bumps and has problems walking as he has never had any exercise.  The most upsetting thing to see was that he just looked like his spirit had been broken.  However, many of the dogs that Clare fosters look like this to begin with but each time she manages to bring them out of their shell and put the sparkle back into their eyes.    The farm that they think he was rescued from gets closed down on a regular basis but the owners just hide the dogs and start up again elsewhere.  Thanks to the likes of Clare, the dogs rescued are brought back to health and placed with loving families.

Have a look at our PETS NEEDING HOMES page to see some more info and a photo of gorgeous George.

Well done Natalie!!

Hi Everyone

Here at Dotty 4 Dogs we are getting very busy taking bookings for the comming summer so make sure you get your bookings in quickly!

Also from May 1st all our Pet carers are dealing directly with you, the pet owners instead of taking bookings through the main Dotty number so if you are already registered with us and would like to make a booking, please contact your Pet Carer direct. You will also now need to make payments to your pets carer direct. We will of course still be offering a very high standard of care for your pet at all times.
This website will be updated to reflect these changes over the next few weeks.

I hope you have all been enjoying some lovely long walks in the sunshine that we have had recently. Lets hope it stays!

Hi everyone

I haven't written for a little while so thought i'd update you on what's happening here at the dotty headquarters!
Our foster dog Hope that we had been caring for, for nearly 6 months has gone to a new home with a lovely couple in Hampshire. I know she will be very well cared for and should enjoy many lovely long walks on the beach.

The day after Hope went we were asked to take in another ex breeding boxer called Flory. I drove down the motorway as usual not quite sure what to expect. When Flory was let out of her cage in the van she was bouncy and excited which was a real surprise as most of the rescue dogs are very scared and in a bad way. Flory had very thin fur and lots of scars but other than that she was one of the best rescues we've had here. She didn't stay long with us though as after just two days a family wanted to adopt her and once all their checks were done they came straight away so she was only with us for 4 days. Flory is now living in Northamptonshire with a lovely family and another boxer for company.

We have now had almost all of our boarding licence inspections done and have the following ladies available for boarding bookings from now on:
Linda Stobbart - Wellingborough
Janet Callow - Kingsthorpe
Trudy Townsend - West Hunsbury
Sarah Green - Yardley Gobion
Jenny Fear - Abington

Also don't forget we also have LUCY FRANKLIN who offers Pet/House sitting if you would rather leave your pets in their own home environment or have more than just one or two to care for.

All of the ladies above also still offer dog walking/visits, cat feeding and small animal care plus our other pet carers:
Myself! - Rothersthorpe
Carole Bussey - Piddington
Lucy Franklin - Hardingstone
Julia Harris - Rothersthorpe

We all have CRB checks, references and are covered under our public liability insurance.

Give us a call or email claregilby@dotty4dogs.co.uk for an info pack.

You may have noticed the BIRTHDAY DOG is back on the home page! he was greatly missed so we bought him back to say happy birthday to all our dotty pets! Don't forget if you are a regular user of the dotty service your pet will get a birthday gift and you also pay less per service. So come back often!

That's all for now

Tuesday, 20 January 2009

Its a new year and we have already got a change in the Dotty office to report, along with some day to day news.

First thing is that I (Julia) have taken a step away from the Dotty office.  As you know I have been working along side Clare for the last few months, helping her to get things up and running smoothly - we have done so well that Clare is now able to run things alone.  I will be lurking in the background however for the times when an extra pair of hands is needed - as well as all the hard work we have had a lot of fun!

One of the things I will be involved with is the 'Doggy Day' that Clare will be arranging in the next few weeks.  We are still working out venues, dates and the format but will post a blog as soon as we know more.

Boarding licences are now being renewed for this year.  Bookings are already coming in for Summer so dont leave yours too late.

We have been getting a lot of enquiries for Pet Sitting recently.  Lucy has been doing these for us, brilliantly I might add, but we have decided a second Sitter is going to be needed so Clare is interviewing another lady today.

A lot going on already!  If you get a minute to send us comments through on anything we have mentioned that would be great.

Bye for now, Dotty x

Hi everyone

Sorry its been so long since I last left you all a message, we've been really busy here with lots of new doggies to care for (and a few cats too!).

If you have'nt already looked at our Pets needing homes page, we have a new foster dog staying with us until she finds a new home.

Hope

Hope is approx 5 years old and has come from Wales. Sadly she was kept locked in a kennel 24/7 and used for breeding until she was rescued and taken in by Many Tears animal rescue. We went and picked her up about two months ago now to get her used to living in a home, toilet train, feed her up and generally build her confidence so that she can go onto a new home. She is very good with children and other dogs. We have not tried her with cats but I think she would probably chase them as she has had no socialising with them. If you are interested in giving Hope a forever home then please give me a call - 07535 674135.

Please ask your friends, relatives or work collegues incase someone you know has space in their heart and home for a new four legged friend.

I will keep you all updated on how Hope is doing

Just had to let you all read this!  This is part of an email that came through to us today from one of our clients, talking about their dogs visit to see Lucy at Moulton College:

My 2 went to lovely Lucy yesterday and have come back looking stunning!  Their coats are so shiney and they no longer leave a carpet of hairs behind when they get up !!  All for a very reasonable £30 too!  The centre is spotless with lovely caring staff and was very quiet and calm when I collected Bonnie and William (some places can be very noisey because of the kennelled dogs).  She gets my vote - infact I've already reccommended her to someone else I know with 7 mini poodles and she's off to visit them tomorrow !

'The Centre' refers to Moulton College where Lucy grooms and for anyone who has not read our blog before this one, Lucy is one of our Pet Carers.

Lucy, if you are reading this 'good on you girl'.  As Clare said you are 'not just good at walking dogs!'
